Our first 5 actions to EndGBV is “Our Story.” With Our Story we hope to promote storytelling and highlight the countless voices of women across the world. The global story of violence women face around the world is being heard more than ever before. The #MeToomvmt started by Tarana Burke is a perfect example of what happens when women come together to speak out against violence.
We are calling on women and allies around the world to break their silence and tell their stories. Sharing our stories is vital because when we bring our stories into the light, we not only empower ourselves but also those who are afraid to do so. It is time the world understood that women’s experiences of violence are not isolated. Together we can truly become a wave of voices too loud to ignore.
World Pulse, is the global women’s storytelling and networking platform for change. For the Global Anniversary March, World Pulse and Women’s March Global called for women around the world to tell us what world free of violence would look like. Now, we partner again, collaborating with World Pulse’s extensive network of storytellers in order to amplify their powerful accounts of the violence women experience every day.
