In recognition of the movements that have transpired – the history of activism and determination in the fight for sexual and reproductive rights and the violence experienced in the process – we are highlighting 16 Global Movements for Bodily Autonomy. 

Over the last 25 years, around 50 countries have changed their laws to allow for greater access to abortion, and what united these successful campaigns to reform abortion laws is that women spoke out. 

Today, 40% of women live in countries with highly restrictive abortion laws, where if abortion is legal, it is neither available nor accessible. That is why we are calling on you to join us on 18 January 2019 to March for Our Human Rights
